With enemies at every turn, how will they survive with their lives and love intact?

Backcover
A one-night stand, a surprise baby, and a mysterious stalker.
Mechanic Benjamin Starwell can’t stop thinking about Belle Hamlin, the ballsy musician he slept with and skipped out on months earlier. He never meant to get her pregnant, but he’ll do whatever it takes to win back her trust and be a part of his child’s life. His desire for Belle drives him to be a better man, but he’s worn thin with a garage to run and his estranged sister dumping her troubles on him.
Belle’s juggling impending motherhood, her indie rock career, and a stalker who’s determined to see her fail. Even though she’s desperate to get her priorities straight, she pushes aside her past hurt and welcomes Benji back into her bed. She never expects him to slip into her heart.
When the danger escalates, they face the greatest challenge of all—protecting their unborn child.

A Peek Between the Covers

“Here we go. That’s the head, an arm, and two legs.” Peggy pointed at the screen as she performed the ultrasound. “All the blackness around the fetus is the amniotic fluid.”
His heart thumped faster in his rib cage. Wow. There’s my baby.
Two splotchy white legs, bent at the knees, protruded from the tiny body. The arm stretched out. Four fingers and a thumb rolled into an itty-bitty fist.
“Just one arm?” Belle’s eyes widened. “Does the baby only have one? What does that—”
“Belle, stay calm.” His stomach dropped to his feet. Oh, God. Would his child need a prosthetic?
“It’s all right. We’re looking at its back and partial right side, so only one arm is visible. The sound waves can’t penetrate the fetus. Give the little one a moment, and he or she should change positions.”
Belle nodded. Her chest rose and fell in quick succession.
He breathed a sigh of relief. Damn. What a mischievous kid. Not even out of the womb and already scaring the hell out of his parents. Her parents. What was it—a boy or girl?
“There’s the second arm.” Belle brushed a tear from her cheek as the baby turned and splayed both arms upward. “Thank goodness, but I should’ve known better. The baby had two arms during the first ultrasound. I’m acting like a fool.”

Inspiration for Arresting Benjamin

I introduced Benji and Belle in book 1 of the series, Arresting Mason, and though they never met in that book, I had a little idea in the back of my mind that they would be perfect for each other. Benji was arrogant, a little gruff, and a total ladies’ man, and I was eager to knock him down a few pegs. Belle was moody and going through a rough patch, romantically, and I wanted her to find happiness. So when I threw this unlikely couple together, fireworks shot off in my head and on the page. They bicker with each other like crazy, but they’re loyal to a fault.
I love stories with characters in reversed roles. Meaning, most of the rock star romance books on the market today feature a rock star hero. Not in my book. Belle is an indie musician with dreams of stardom and has no plans to settle down and start a family—unlike a lot of heroines in standard romances. Getting pregnant upends her life. Benji, on the other hand, is tried of jumping from woman to woman and feels as though he’s missing something vital in his life. Getting Belle pregnant was just what he needed to reevaluate his choices.
I feel like I say this about all my books, but Arresting Benjamin is one of my favorites that I’ve written.  I hope my readers will enjoy it too.
