Hi Reet! I'm so glad you could join me today and I'm excited to have you here. While I pour us a cup will you share with the other guests who you are other than your official bio?
I am an eye surgeon and I practiced for years and years and taught (a few) generations of medical students before I retired four years ago. Now I am occasional care provider but also a caregiver and I try and fit my writing and my other hobbies into an uncertain schedule.

Hmm, I see. LoL, get it? I see? Sorry, sometime I can't help myself. I bet you haven't heard that one before. What interests besides writing do you enjoy? For instance, what do you read or hobbies you have?
I absolutely adore crochet and find it difficult to pass a wool store by without stopping, staring and yearning. I own hooks of every size and have a cupboard full of wool just in case there’s an emergency and I have to create something at short notice. Ha ha, but also, I’m not kidding!
Another love - a new one - is gardening. I have recently acquired a tiny garden that I am having fun growing things in. As a previous novice indoor plant keeper, I have only ever killed the plants I’ve brought home, so this whole process of going from seed to plant to edible stuff is thrilling.

How fun. I've hooked a few lap blankets in my past. My mom taught me how. Gardening is also a wonderful way to decompress and provide for the table. I believe that we don't enter this author world as a single entity but need others to encourage and hold our hand at times.  Who contributes to your writing career.
My family – husband, sons, parents, siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews – are rock-solid supporters of my writing. I also have writer friends who keep me going with their words of wisdom and with help beta-reading and critiquing my work. A big shout out to them!

Do you have any fun or outrageous talent?
My cooking is fun for me and outrageous for the purists among my family and friends. I count my creativity in the kitchen as a talent that I’m rather pleased with. I love mixing ingredients and often end up with concoctions that delight some (me especially) and alarm others. I can’t seem to stick to conventional recipes – really, I have tried and failed. Mixing and matching is much more interesting!

You're my kind of cook. I'll glance at a recipe but then all bets are off. What is your neighborhood like? Are there any places you frequent? What makes them special?
I am quite a stay-at-home kind now. Having commuted to work my whole working life – through maddening traffic that included a bedlam of cars, trucks, rickshaws, buses, cyclists and pedestrians – I love not having to move about as much. We still have to eat though, and I like visiting the farmer’s market once a week. It is close enough that we can walk there and be back in less than 15 minutes. The sight of all those carts full of fresh vegetables and fruit [and freshly made popcorn – yum!] is uplifting and our cotton bags are soon full of goodies. Then, there’s a gourmet cheese, chocolate, and bread store that I adore visiting – walking distance too, so it’s convenient though expensive.

That sounds ideal. I adore farmer's markets and all the fresh things they offer. If they made a movie about your life, what would the title be, and who would play you?
“Tumultuous” an action thriller starring Catherine Zeta Jones as Reet Singh. Tagline: Restive rebel takes on world that spurns the offbeat.

I would be first on line for a ticket. If you could only choose one song to play every time you walked into a room for the rest of your life, what would it be?
“I could have danced all night” from My Fair Lady. It’s the song my heart sang the day I met the man I was to marry. We’ve been together thirty-six years now and it’s still my favorite song (and he, my favorite man).

So romantic! Would you rather have unlimited international first-class tickets or never have to pay for food at restaurants?
No contest – definitely travel over food!

What subjects should be taught in school but aren’t?
Diversity, Gender, Inclusion, and Accessibility: from day one, and repeated (scaled up in an age appropriate way) every year of school.

If someone came up to you and said, “Hey, do that thing you do!” what thing would pop into your head first?
I’d sing. It’s my thing. I function in terms of songs. Happy? Sing joyous songs. Sad? Sing songs of separation and broken hearts. Cooking? Washing dishes? Sing anything to get through chores!

I'm exactly like that! Everything is a song. Do you read your book reviews? How do you deal with bad or good ones?
I do read them (I don’t have hundreds of them). The good ones thrill me no end, but the bad ones galvanize me into addressing the thing in my next book – the thing that bothered the reader. I’m not perfect, obviously, and I appreciate honest critique. The only reviews that trouble me are the ones where the reviewer is rude. It is quite unnecessary to target the author as a person in one’s review. Such reviews sting. I – fortunately – have not had many of the mean kinds.
Reet, thank you so much for spending time with us today. I love your cover. The colors are so vibrant. Could you share a bit about it? I'd also ask if you would let us know where to find out more about it and you.

Heat level 2/5: sweeter than sexy romance
Small-town, drama-packed romance

A peek
Danger meets delight in Asar Kalan!
Dr Danvir Sandhu has been dealt a cruel hand – his house of cards comes tumbling down when he loses, one by one, all the things that bring meaning to his life. He has barely found equilibrium when a serendipitous event brings Latika Anand into his orbit, and he struggles to stay aloof even as his heart yearns for a future with the maddeningly enticing fashion designer.
Considerably bruised after a break up that is as unexpected as it is callous, Latika is thrown into an even more precarious situation that threatens her life. Both experiences convince her to return to her roots and tackle old demons even if it means denying the attraction she feels for a certain utterly fascinating physician.
Drawn to each other despite the drama and danger that follows their first meeting, will they find love, or will the relentless past catch up and cost them a future together?

leena varghese: 5.0 out of 5 stars A wonderful read!
Reviewed in India 🇮🇳 on 28 November 2020
“Reet Singh knows how to create a perfect romance. Of all the heroes created in her books, Danvir will remain my favourite. I am happy that compassion and humanity have not left the pages of romance novels yet. The story had everything in place without once being over the top or dull.
I loved the way self-awareness and transformation in both the characters was shown as the story developed. I would have given more stars if there was an option only for the way, disease, loss and grief was handled. This one was beautiful and heartwarming at every level, and so much more than a mere HEA.
A wonderful read!”

More about the Author and where to find her.
My love affair with books began when I was a tot. A fabulous mother, who recognized the power of the written word, read to me and my sisters every night, introducing us to the wonderful world of the imagination. Once I could read on my own, I graduated from fairy tales to adventure stories to romance, spending all my pocket money on books. My father served in the army and took the family along mostly wherever he went, resulting in experiences that beg to find a place in my books.
Writing about love and happy endings feeds my romantic soul; hearing from my readers thrills me.

I laughed out loud about cupboards full of wool. You're not alone! I also like to call my stash building being prepared for an emergency. Who knows when you'll need to whip up beanies for an entire school yard or enough warm blankets for a platoon! Loved learning more about you!

Nothing warms the heart more than busy fingers and the click-clack of knitting needles, Kim. Fab to meet a like-minded wool-lover!
