Around the Fire with Margot Johnson and things that make us happy.

Happy Around the Campfire Day. I don't know if there is a day for this but I've taken the bull by the horns and hereby declare that day today. As I'm writing this DH and I are on a quick turnaround trip from Florida. And yes, there were several campfires since we stayed at the Perry KOA and visited with old friends. Today's fire is with author Margot Johnson. She is sharing with us the things that make her happy. Yep, one of those things is a campfire.

I’ve been thinking a lot lately how good it feels to laugh, to focus on the lighter side of life, and to savor the good things around us—like sitting in front of a cozy campfire. We can all use more good news and more feel-good moments, so let’s share them.

I totally agree. I love the laugh that makes your sides hurt and exhausts you. So, what makes you feel happy?
In no particular order, here are some things that make me smile…

• A crackling campfire at a local lake resort
• Family visits
• Dogs of all kinds and especially golden retrievers
• Games nights
• Getting Wordle in two guesses
• Fireworks on Canada Day
• Seeing a beautiful sunrise and sunset
• The Northern lights
• Unusually warm winter weather
• Popcorn and a movie
• A long walk
• Skating on an outdoor rink
• Dinner parties with close friends
• Doing a friend a favor
• Flowers on Valentine’s Day
• Hearing someone loved one of my books and took time to post a review
• A new release…my latest is coming in April. My cover unveil is coming soon.
